Black art makes up less than 2% of the market.
Faced with that fact, Anthony Joiner founded and continues to serve as Director of Wichita’s Mulberry Art Gallery, whose purpose was to give black artists a continuous space to exhibit and market their work. Joiner stopped into the PN livestream booth at Tallgrass Film Festival to talk with Kerry and Q about the origins of his gallery and his wife’s work as an artist. They touch upon how the community has responded to this undertaking. NOTE: The art featured on the walls of our livestream booth all weekend at Tallgrass was borrowed from Mulberry for this occasion.
