Represent. Amplify. Connect.

Mulberry Art Gallery fosters connections with Black artists, artists of color, and artists historically underrepresented in regional venues. Mulberry aims to serve as a site for innovative creative exploration that will change that narrative and amplify these voices.

Located in the heart of Wichita’s African American community, this area is rapidly evolving with a diverse influx of new business and cultural opportunities. We deliberately chose this site for its easy accessibility to the artists with whom we hope to connect and the audience most eager to encounter their work.

Black art makes up less than 2% of the market. Faced with that fact, Anthony Joiner founded and continues to serve as Director of Wichita’s Mulberry Art Gallery, whose purpose is to give black artists a continuous space to exhibit and market their work.
Meet the Challenge empowers under-resourced youth by providing one-to-one mentoring with professional artists, art workshops, exposure to entrepreneurship and careers in art and opportunities to develop, present, and sell artwork.
